Policy on Non-Discrimination and Equal Treatment
Scientific Works «Adult Education: Theory, Experience, Prospects» follows the principles of respect for human dignity, equal treatment, inclusiveness, academic objectivity, and non-discrimination at all stages of the editorial and publishing process.
The journal applies the principles of non-discrimination, fair treatment, and equal access to editorial consideration in line with international approaches to ethical and transparent editorial practice, including the spirit of the recommendations of WAME and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.
The editorial office ensures that submission, consideration, peer review, editorial evaluation, publication decisions, post-publication review, and official communication with authors, reviewers, members of the editorial board, and other participants are carried out without discrimination on the grounds of sex, gender, age, race, colour, ethnic or social origin, citizenship, language, religion, health condition, disability, marital status, place of residence, political or other views, sexual orientation, academic status, institutional affiliation, or any other characteristic not related to the scholarly quality of the manuscript and professional ethics.
Editorial decisions are made only on the basis of:
- the scholarly quality of the manuscript;
- its relevance to the journal’s scope;
- academic integrity;
- methodological and theoretical soundness;
- the results of independent peer review;
- compliance with the editorial and ethical requirements of the journal.
The journal does not allow any form of discrimination, biased treatment, hate speech, humiliation, harassment, abuse of status, pressure, offensive communication, or unprofessional behaviour within the editorial process.
If the editorial office finds signs of discrimination, bias, or improper conduct, it may:
- stop the relevant interaction;
- replace the reviewer or responsible editor;
- conduct an internal review of the situation;
- take editorial or organisational measures in line with the journal’s internal policies.
This Policy is applied together with the other journal policies.
