Repository Policy

Scientific Works «Adult Education: Theory, Experience, Prospects» supports the principles of open science and encourages the lawful and correct deposit of research materials by authors in order to share research results, increase the visibility of publications, support academic communication, and improve scholarly impact.

1. General Provisions

1.1. Authors have the right to deposit their own materials related to an article in open access, provided that they follow the journal’s editorial policies, the principles of academic integrity, copyright rules, and proper reference to the first publication.

1.2. This Deposit Policy applies to different versions of a manuscript, including:

  • preprint - the author’s version before peer review;
  • accepted manuscript / postprint - the author’s version after peer review and before journal formatting;
  • Version of Record - the final published version of the article in the journal.

2. Deposit Before Submission and During Review

2.1. The journal does not object to the prior deposit of a preprint on the author’s personal website, in an institutional repository, on a subject preprint server, or on another non-commercial academic open-access resource, provided that this does not mislead readers about the status of the manuscript.

2.2. If a manuscript submitted to the journal has already been posted as a preprint, the author must inform the editorial office and, where available, provide the relevant link.

2.3. While the manuscript is under review, the author is advised not to post new versions of the text that may create uncertainty about which version has been submitted to the journal.

3. Deposit After Acceptance and After Publication

3.1. After an article is accepted for publication, the author may deposit the accepted manuscript / postprint in:

  • institutional repositories;
  • subject repositories;
  • the author’s personal web resources;
  • the web resources of the institution where the author works or studies;
  • non-commercial academic open-access platforms.

3.2. After the official publication of the article, the author may deposit the Version of Record or the official link to it without embargo in:

  • open institutional repositories;
  • personal web pages;
  • the websites of academic institutions;
  • researcher profiles;
  • other non-commercial systems of scholarly communication, provided that this does not conflict with the law or the licence terms.

3.3. When depositing the published version, the author must use the correct bibliographic information for the article.

4. Mandatory Conditions for Deposit

4.1. In all cases of deposit, the author must:

  • keep the name(s) of the author(s), the title of the article, the title of the journal, and other bibliographic data unchanged;
  • state that the final version of the article was published in Scientific Works «Adult Education: Theory, Experience, Prospects»;
  • include the full bibliographic reference to the publication;
  • include the DOI and an active link to the official article page on the journal website;
  • not remove information about the licence and the conditions of first publication.

4.2. If corrections are made to the article after publication, the author is advised to update the deposited version or add a note with a link to the current official version.

5. Licence Conditions

5.1. The conditions of deposit are consistent with the journal’s Open Access Policy, Licensing Policy, and Copyright Policy.

5.2. As the journal follows the Diamond Open Access model and uses the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, authors keep copyright in their works and may share them provided that proper authorship, the first place of publication, and the licence terms are clearly stated.

6. Restrictions

6.1. Deposit must not:

  • violate the rights of third parties;
  • mislead readers about the status of the manuscript or the version of the article;
  • distort the content of the published work;
  • violate confidentiality requirements if the material is still under editorial consideration;
  • conflict with editorial decisions in cases of ethics review, correction, retraction, or other post-publication changes.

7. Final Provisions

7.1. This Policy is applied together with other journal policies.

7.2. Submission of a manuscript to the journal means that the author(s) agree to this Policy.
