CREATIVE HERITAGE OF SOFIA RUSOVA: ANDRAGOGICAL ASPECT
Abstract
Based on the analysis of original sources and modern research materials, the publication highlights the views of Sofia Rusova on adult education and lifelong learning. The author emphasizes that the creative heritage of Sofia Rusova reflects the certain aspects of the theory and practice of adult education (semantic, organizational, managerial, etc.). It is substantiated that in the context of andragogical research, S. Rusova's analysis of foreign experience of adult learning (educator' works about extracurricular education) (history of development, successful foreign practices, etc.) is of special interest. It was emphasized that Sofia Rusova convincingly substantiated the need for reading in the lives of children, youth and adults, she stressed the importance of equipping libraries and museums. It is noted that in the field of adult education Sofia Rusova promoted the ideas of democracy, continuity of education, combination of intellectual classes with compulsory physical activity, keeping healthy lifestyle, she insisted on the need to use acquired knowledge, skills and abilities in professional activities and daily life, etc. In the article the emphasis is placed on the fact that the foundation of S. Rusova's pedagogical works is the ideas of humanistically oriented national education, the introduction of which ensures the formation and development of a full-fledged, multiple-developed, creative, independent personality, citizen. According to the author of the article, the educator's ideas about the optimal combination of physical and mental work, organization of work with the book, health keeping, mandatory creation of a favorable microclimate in the students team, etc. allow to study the pedagogical heritage of Sofia Rusova in the context of the task of scientific work organization, andragogical context.
