SCIENTOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF THE ACADEMICIAN S. GONCHARENKO’S SCIENTIFIC HERITAGE
Abstract
The author has made a scientometric analysis of the scientific achievements of S. Goncharenko. There was presented a classification of his sources by content, were defined groups of purely scientific research (monographs, scientific articles, dissertations), popularization works (journalism, popular science publications), educational (manuals, textbooks), reference books (encyclopedias, bibliographic indexes, dictionaries, etc.), textbook editions (collections of documents, editions of works, etc.). The problems of Semen Ustimovich's scientific researches are determined, their priority directions are singled out: didactics of physics, problems of national education development, general didactics, methodology of pedagogy. It is noted that the systematization of the scientific and pedagogical heritage of the scientist according to different criteria allowed to get an idea of the diversity of the scientist's works and the range of problems that were the subject of his research. It is substantiated that placing the scientist's information resources in the electronic library promotes the spreading and provides open access to the results of his research. It is considered that bringing the information resources in the electronic library (promulgation), downloading resources (spreading), citation of scientific products (use) are the implementation of the scientist’s scientific results. S. Goncharenko's bibliometric profile is presented with the help of the most important criteria for assessing the scientific level (h-index, i10-index). An adequate assessment of S. Goncharenko's scientific productivity was obtained, the total number of publications and the total number of citations of the scientist were determined. It is concluded that the works of Academician S. Goncharenko are quite cited today: in the texts of dissertations, abstracts, and in the latest works of current scholars on the problems of history of pedagogy, didactics, theory of education, national education, the contribution of specific personalities in the development of domestic pedagogy.
