TECHNICAL CULTURE AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES OF MARITIME INDUSTRY MANAGER
Abstract
The review article visualizes the scale of processes belonging to the maritime industry in the system of commodity relations of mankind, it is emphasized the place and multifaceted activity of maritime managers. It has been proven that a combined didactic system is needed to train managers of maritime industry, that is capable of turning the educational process at maritime higher education institutions into a kind of production-technological process with a guaranteed result - the achievement of a clearly defined level of professional competence of a maritime industry manager. The leading role of technical culture in the training of a maritime industry manager in the conditions of continuous education and the need for it continuous development are revealed. The author states that the existing system of pedagogical support does not fully reflect the circumstances of future activities, therefore there is a need to consider the system in a strategic plan, in terms of its improvement and taking into account its essential integration properties. Attention is focused on the fact that the maritime industry manager must possess the following features: to have business philosophy; to have perfect knowledge of the production process; to understand management tasks, to adhere the moral principles of managers' behavior developed mainly through experience. It has too many external variables for that. It is noted that the studied category of specialists should be able to influence other people. The manager of the maritime industry must combine the qualities of a formal and informal leader, and, as a result, of effective management. It is justified that the specifics of professional activity actualizes the importance of knowledge of foreign languages, international legislation, especially maritime conventions and agreements, as well as readiness for constant improvement and development of technical culture to support competitiveness in the labor market.
