PROFESSIONAL SELF-REGULATION OF THE LECTURER OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION IN THE CONDITIONS OF WAR

Abstract

The article analyzes the problem of professional self-regulation of a lecturer of higher education institutions in the conditions of war. An analysis of modern publications and scientific works on the investigated problem was carried out. Attention is focused on the fact that studying in war conditions has become a challenge for all participants in the educational process and a real test for higher education institutions. It is worth noting that the most optimal and safe form of organization of the educational process in the conditions of martial law is remote. Revealed of the concept of «self-regulation» is clarified. It was found that the teacher's professional self-regulation involves awareness of one's feelings, motives, values, conscious mastery of the system of self-regulation of emotional state and behavior in professional activities. The authors notes that for the eighth month in a row, lecturer are adapting to the realities of war. In today's conditions, the need to be in touch around the clock has increased; communicate with students, their parents in messengers, viber-groups, cloud services; monitor current news and check their authenticity. In addition, the lecturer is often in a stressful situation: getting to know a new student group, the presence of a significant number of academic disciplines, complex educational material, additional assignments from the administration, a flexible schedule of classes that depends on certain situations (airborne alert), etc. Conducting classes during martial law became not only an educational, but also a psychological need. It was concluded that  lecturers of higher education institutions need to be able to adapt to the new conditions of the organization of the educational process, in particular in the conditions of war and distance learning; to learn to understand one's own emotions, to be able to manage them; keep calm in stressful situations, respond adequately to their appearance; take care of a comfortable personal space; organize a rational routine of the day, take care of sleep, proper nutrition, physical activity, carefully follow the rules of personal hygiene; to be in the fresh air every day; to help colleagues in solving personal or household problems; master the latest teaching technologies in conditions of mixed learning; to remember pleasant moments from  his own peaceful life.
