NON-FORMAL CHOREOGRAPHIC EDUCATION OF ADULTS IN UKRAINE: HISTORICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL CONTEXT
Abstract
The article reveals the development of dynamics of choreographic education in Ukraine in non-institutional organization forms during the 40s-50s of the 20th century. The essence of the categories «amateur» and «choreographic amateur» is clarified. Their semantic relationship is established, as well as the functional significance of the phenomenon of non-professional creative activity in the field of dance in the structure of continuing choreographic education. In the aspect of socio-political and cultural determinants, the organizational-legal principles and instructional-methodical provision of adults' choreographic training in institutions of mass culture were analyzed. Based on the analysis of the reporting documentation of the cultural and educational spheres, it was found that the support of amateur choreography was centralized, normatively regulated, and relied on special specialized departments. The main directions of their enlightenment were represented by methodical, educational, and organizational activities.
The spread of elementary choreographic knowledge among the adult population took place in various formats of aesthetic and educational orientation, namely thematic lectures, concerts, evenings of rest, and performances of professional artistic groups. The leading form of organization of choreographic activity in the conditions of club leisure was amateur dance groups. Choreographic groups became a significant factor in the quantitative dynamics of dance performance in the environment of club leisure. At the same time, it was noted that the need to train choreography specialists in the cultural and mass work system remained relevant. The active direction of amateur choreography development at that time was mass forms of creativity. Their implementation results revealed the actual level of amateurs’ performing skills. While forming the content of non-institutional forms of adult choreographic education, there was a correlation between ideological and educational factors. It was confirmed by the pedagogical resources of amateur choreography.
