FORMATION OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES OF IT SPECIALISTS IN THE CONDITIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

This article is devoted to a theoretical generalization of aspects of the formation of professional competence for future specialists, who are trained in higher education institutions to work in the Information Technology industry. The main purpose of this article is to describe the specifics of the formation of professional competencies for IT specialists in the conditions of higher education institutions of Ukraine. Scientific sources have been studied to determine professional competence of IT specialists. It is generalized that this terminological association means the ability of an individual to carry out professional activities to improve practical skills. It is necessary for a flexible respond to rapid changes in digital space and independently solving professional tasks in the field of information technologies in order to increase their own competitiveness in the global labor market. Educational and professional programs for training bachelors and masters in the specialties «System Programming» and «Computer Engineering» were analyzed. The main purpose of training future IT specialists was clarified, which is to form general and professional competencies necessary for independently solving practical problems in the field of information technology and computer engineering, as well as to form a creative personality and an independently cell of the society. It has been established that the essence of the formation of professional competence for future IT specialists is based on the motivational and value component of educational activity developed in students, which determines students' understanding of the value of education and self-educational activity, motivation for the chosen IT profession. Additionally, this component is based on awareness of the necessity to form and develop professional knowledge, skills and abilities. The need for students to gain practical experience through project implementation and internships at leading IT companies is substantiated.
