STRUCTURAL MODELS OF ANDRAGOGUE TRAINING IN HIGHER EDUCATION: GERMAN EXPERIENCE IN THE CONTEXT OF UKRAINIAN REALITIES
Abstract
The article analyzes structural models of andragogue training in the German higher education system in the context of adapting constructive ideas from this experience to Ukrainian realities. The study reveals the peculiarities of professionalization of adult education specialists within the German educational space and characterizes current trends in the development of master’s programmes in adult and lifelong learning education. Based on the analysis of official descriptions of educational programmes at German universities, four levels of specialization in adult education training were identified, and a typology of andragogue training models was substantiated, including specialized, mixed, and integrated models. The study determines the criteria for the comparative analysis of andragogue training programmes, including the status of andragogy within the programme structure, level of specialization, content structure, professional orientation, practical component, interdisciplinarity, graduates’ career orientation, and format of professionalization. On the basis of these criteria, the master’s programmes of Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, and Freie Universität Berlin were analyzed. It was found that the system of andragogue training in Germany is characterized by structural variability, interdisciplinarity, and flexibility of educational trajectories. The study demonstrates that the integrated model is the most widespread, whereas specialized programmes provide a higher level of professional orientation and early professionalization. The significance of German experience for the development of andragogue training in Ukraine is substantiated, particularly in the context of implementing a competence-based approach, strengthening the practical component, developing interdisciplinarity, and creating flexible educational models in the field of adult education.
