EDUCATIONAL LANGUAGE TENDENCIES IN THE XXIst CENTURY EUROPE

Abstract

The article touches upon the problems of language development in European educational space. Tendencies of language education in the XXI century have been substantiated here. The importance of informational environment in the development of linguistic education has been emphasized, along with the trends for multilingual development of education, which consider modern philosophical, pedagogical, psychological and linguistic approaches, specific conditions of implementing the new activities into language teaching at national educational institutions, the use of latest pedagogical technologies directed towards development of cognitive and creative aspects of personality, who has a high level of communicative competence. The research methods of psychological analysis, linguistic and methodological literature study, pedagogical observation, generalization of results, analysis of European documents and linguistic programs have been applied. The strategic objective of European language policy has been emphasized – to support the national and international cooperation of governmental and non-governmental institutions in the system of teaching and assessment methods. It has been stated that language orientation is a key priority in European society, which supports European strategy towards international mobility and close cooperation, encourages the development of a diverse European cultural life through mutual learning of national and regional languages.
