Abstract

The article analyzes the peculiarities of the adaptation period of novice specialists in engineering specialties under the conditions of garment industry manufacture. It has been emphasized that the labour adaptation should be carried out comprehensively in all directions: professional, psychophysiological, social, communicative and value-based. The article also examines the process of young specialists’ entry into the work from the point of view of the system approach. In particular, it has been noted that the adaptation period consists of four main stages. At the familiarization stage, the young specialist is getting familiar with organizational features of the enterprise, the production environment and the content of official duties. The stage of adaptation involves the implementation of adaptational training and the establishment of cooperation with the team. At the stage of assimilation, the young specialist assimilates the values of the enterprise; the identification stage forms the social identity of the novice engineer with the work team and the enterprise as a whole. In this case, for the qualitative implementation of the content of the above mentioned stages you can apply such methods as welcome training, workplace preparation, mentoring, conversation and transmission of values. It has been established that the main content of the training of new engineering staff for the first workplace is a qualitative organization of adaptational training, the purpose of which is to study the system of specialized knowledge and skills necessary for the corresponding position and to master the work skills in the work team. It has also been analyzed the peculiarities of the adaptation period organization for the young specialists in space and time, taking into account the specifics of garment manufacture. It has been revealed that at garment enterprises the period of adaptational training can last from two weeks to three months, depending on the complexity of the types of work in accordance with the official duties of the employee at a specific workplace and with the specifics of the technological process of production in general. It has also been determined that adaptational training at some enterprises may take place within the framework of specially appointed structural units for the training of new employees (experimental workshop, training area, etc.), or directly at the site where the young specialist will work.

It has been concluded that under the conditions of the transformation of the economic and social space of Ukraine it is expedient to study the experience of labour adaptation among young engineers in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, in particular in the Czech Republic and Slovakia due to the similarities in the general features of the light industry development in the countries of this European Region in the recent past and in our country at the present time.
