THE ROLE OF THE MODERN CATHOLIC CHURCH IN FORMING MORAL-VALUE AND ETHICAL ORIENTATIONS OF CHILDREN, YOUTH AND ADULTS
Abstract
In this article it is researched an influence of the Catholic Church over current formation of moral-value and ethical orientations of the youth. Basing on the Declaration about Christian education, published by the Second Vatican Council, this article has presented theoretical aspects of the formation of modern youth: from the birth and formation in the first educational community – family, till higher education institutions, where morality and his/her fundamentals are possibility for a person to act, think and feel according to the spiritual grounds. Also in this article it is considered the essence of such concepts: «spirituality», «morality», «spiritual-moral values», relying on those in the educational process should facilitate the formation of a personality and should be determined basing on criterias of the spiritual direction of one’s vital activity and in the context of providing the growth on humanocentric and sociocentric grounds accepted in the society. Furthermore, there is substained the actuality and necessity of the preparation of students in the field 041 «Theology», whose functions became significantly wider as a result of many factors. Moreover, this article determined the theoretical and practical aspects of theological education in Ukraine, its challenges and tasks in the modern society. Higher Education of the theological direction is presented as necessity at the present time in the conditions of scientific, informational and technological revolution. Also here are determined the main directions of the education of priests-theologians: universal, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral. Psychological and pedagogical preparation can support obtaining the mentioned directions. Those directions are an integral part of theological students’ education. Author of this article convinces us in the necessity of the growth of system of modern youth’s values basing on spiritual and moral orientations that are based on integrated ability of a personality manifesting in a need to live, create in accordance to ideals of truth, kindness and beauty. Spirituality and morality are considered as an indicator of human relationships, moral-ethical and citizenship position, ability to compassion, empathy and mercy.
