THE STATE OF FUTURE TEACHERS’ READINESS FOR SCIENTIFIC-RESEARCH WORK IN PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY
Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of the readiness of future teachers for scientific-research work in their professional activity. It is noted that an important element of the future teachers trainingis is their readiness for scientific-research work in professional activity, which is defined as an urgent problem of modern pedagogical science and practice.
Different views on the concept of «readiness», «readiness for a certain type of activity», «readiness for pedagogical activity», as well as «readiness of future teachers for scientific-research work» were analyzed. Different aspects of the future teacher's professional readiness for professional activity have been determined. Various approaches to the structure of the future teachers’ readiness for their scientific-research work are proposed. The author defined the components and criteria of the state of future teachers’ readiness, namely: motivational, cognitive and operational. The conducted empirical study of the state of readiness of future teachers for scientific-research work in professional activity, in accordance with the defined criteria, is described. It was concluded that the readiness for scientific-research activity is determined by various factors, the most important of which, according to the conducted research, is a conscious, motivated attitude towards scientific-research work and the possibilities of its organization; in addition, it is important to have practical skills for conducting scientific-research work in educational institutions, as well as possessing relevant theoretical knowledge about the organization of scientific-research work in the professional activity of a teacher. It was noted that although the majority of students assess their own level of readiness for the scientific-research work as high and above average, there is still a need to improve the state of readiness of future teachers for the scientific-research work in the professional activity. Therefore, the prospects for further research suggest the development and implementation of various ways of motivating students to be engaged in scientific research, creating conditions for successful practical training of students of the second (master’s) level of higher education for research work in an educational institutions.
