FORMATION OF FUTURE TEACHERS’ AI COMPETENCE IN THE PROCESS OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING
Abstract
The review article deals with the urgent problem of forming artificial intelligence (AI) competence of future teachers. The purpose of the article is to identify strategies for the formation of AI competence of future teachers in higher education institutions. It is specified that in the modern world, artificial intelligence has widely penetrated in all spheres of society. The field of education is no exception, in which artificial intelligence has become not only an operational assistant, but also a professional tool used by all participants in the educational process. The article reveals the essence of the concept of AI competence, which is an understanding of the basic principles of responsible use of AI systems by all participants of the educational process; their possession of skills to recognize the use them; awareness of the risks associated with the irresponsible use of AI. The levels of AI competence of teachers are determined. The importance of organizing high-quality professional training of future teachers in higher pedagogical education institutions aimed at forming AI competence is proved. The existing strategies for training practicing teachers in the use of AI in the educational process are presented based on the analysis of modern scientific and pedagogical sources. Based on the experience of the H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University, the article identifies strategies for developing the AI competence of future teachers in higher pedagogical education institutions. It is concluded that artificial intelligence is an assistant in certain aspects of activity, in the organization of the educational process, in particular, in the creation of educational content for students. Artificial intelligence is a creative tool for facilitating the teacher's routine work and at the same time is a modern means for motivating students' learning and cognitive activity in distance learning. Further prospects for scientific research will be based on addressing the issues of effective integration of artificial intelligence into the educational space of the university on the basis of its responsible use.
